What are the nearest Airports to the WEDDING VENUE and which airlines fly there?
Florence is the closest airport to the wedding venue which is a 1 hour drive away. You can also fly to either Pisa or Perugia airports which are 1 hour 30 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes from the hotel, respectively.

How long is the flight?
The flight time is around 2 hours; just enough time to read a few magazines!
Should WE hire a car?
The Tuscan countryside doesn't have fantastic transport links so we'd definitely recommend hiring a car.
If you'd rather not drive we will be arranging the following transfers for guests from Pisa airport:
Arriving Friday 5th August: the transfer will be suitable for flights arriving to Pisa airport at or around 12:00 (British Airways from Heathrow , Ryanair from Stanstead and Jet2 from Manchester have suitable flights)
Departing Sunday 7th August: the return transfer will be suitable for flights departing Pisa airport from 18:00 onwards (British Airways and Easyjet to Gatwick and Ryanair to Stanstead have suitable flights)
The transfer will be available to those staying at the wedding venue and anywhere in the local area.

There are some lovely options in the local area with some well within walking distance of the hotel.
We would recommend any of the hotels below:
Cavarchino - The pretty borgo is a 4 minute walk from the wedding venue (Castello di Spaltenna).
Campanelle Wine Resort - This beautiful resort is a 15 minute walk from the wedding venue.
We would suggest taking a look at booking.com for other options in the Gaiole in Chianti area.
What accommodation CHOICES are there at the wedding venue?
The wedding venue has four different room types, pictures of each of the rooms are featured below. The rooms sleep between 2 - 4 guests, so if you'd like to share with other guests just let us know in the message section on the RSVP form. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and require a two night minimum stay.
16sqms - Overlooking the churchyard, vineyards or gardens, the classic rooms are cosy and full of rustic Tuscan charm.

20sqms - With beautiful beamed ceilings some of the superior rooms feature four poster beds and jacuzzi baths.

28sqms - Each of the hotels spacious deluxe rooms feature jacuzzi baths with sweeping views over the countryside or gardens.

- suitable for 4 guests is £240 per night (€335)
36sqms - The junior suites are extremely spacious with small seating areas and original features, such as open fireplaces and four poster beds.

50sqms - Each of the suites feature living rooms, beautiful bedrooms and terraces overlooking the Tuscan countryside or picturesque hotel grounds.

Guests will be asked to pay 50% when their booking is confirmed, the remaining amount will be due on checkout. As we have taken exclusive use of the hotel, you won't be able to book rooms through the hotel website or any other online booking websites.

How many nights can we book the wedding venue for?
You'll need to book your room for a minimum of two nights. If you'd like to stay a little longer, you're welcome to book either side of the wedding. Just let us know in the message section of the RSVP page.
When can we check-in and check-out at the wedding venue?
You'll be able to check-in from 3pm, check-out time is 12 noon, however you're welcome to leave your bags at reception and use the hotel facilities if you arrive early or leave late. Some rooms may be available a little earlier.
What activities are there at the wedding venue?
From cycling through the rolling Tuscan hills to soaking up the sun by the pool, the hotel has plenty of wonderful facilities and activities available to guests. Why not book yourself a treatment in the hotels beautiful spa!

Absolutely, a delicious breakfast is served on the hotels terrace overlooking the vineyards.

Are kids invited to the wedding?
As much as we love your little ones, I'm afraid we're not inviting any children to the wedding.
what can we do in the local area?
The quaint village of Gaiole in Chianti is a 5 minute walk from the wedding venue and the wider Chianti region is a beautiful area to explore. From legendary wineries to stunning hilltop towns, below are a just a few suggestions.
What time is the welcome dinner?
The welcome dinner will start at 7:30pm, within the grounds of the Castello di Spaltenna.
What are the timings for the wedding day?
The ceremony itself will start at 5:30pm at the Castello di Spaltenna. This will be followed by an alfresco canapé reception and dinner under the stars (we hope!). The plan is to the then dance the night away until 2:30am, or however long your feet can keep going!
What's the dress code?
The welcome dinner will be a relaxed affair, feel free to wear whatever you're most comfortable in.
The wedding itself is black tie, that means dickie bows for the gents and evening wear for the ladies.
is there a Wedding gift list?
As we're asking you to come quite a way we don't have an official gift list. If you absolutely have to get us something, a contribution to our honeymoon would be hugely appreciated!
